My mother uses a wheelchair, so I notice every step without a ramp. On the web I notice the same kind of barriers: missing labels, low contrast, buttons you cannot reach with a keyboard. I want to make finding and fixing them my job.

Sign-up Form for a Wheelchair Basketball Open Day

A registration form for a local sports club's open day. I grouped fields with fieldset and legend and made sure screen readers announce every error.

My learning journey

1. HTML lesson: added alt text to every image and learned when to leave it empty
2. Forms lesson: built a sign-up form where every input has a label
3. CSS lesson: changed my colour theme until the text contrast passed
4. JavaScript lesson: made a to-do list that works with Tab and Enter only
5. After the course: tested classmates' pages with a screen reader and wrote short reports
