Care worker learning web design with people in mind

Athens, Greece Demo

About me

I moved from Tbilisi to Athens to work in elderly care, and I still do that job today. Care work taught me to listen and to notice what people struggle with. I bring that to web design: large text, clear words, nothing hidden.

Recipe Page: Georgian Bean Stew

A recipe page for our monthly supper club, with lists for the ingredients and steps and a photo with alt text. Writing the structure first and styling it later was my main lesson here.

Supper Club Gallery with Flexbox

A gallery of dishes from our supper club, built with Flexbox and flex-wrap. The captions are large and easy to read, and every photo has alt text.

My learning journey

  1. Read the HTML lessons on my phone on the bus between clients
  2. Made a recipe page with lists for the supper club I help run
  3. Learned colour, fonts and spacing, and made all my text larger
  4. Built a gallery with Flexbox for photos from our supper club
  5. Asked older clients to try my website and changed what confused them
