Building websites for market traders and small shops

Ankara, Türkiye Presents live · 14:45 Demo

About me

On market days I run our family's stall in Etimesgut, selling olives, white cheese and village eggs. Customers kept asking if we had a website, so I learned to build one. Now I want to do the same for the traders around me.

Landing Page for Our Market Stall

A one-page site for our family stall, with products, opening times and directions. I learned to plan the sections first and then style them with Flexbox for phones.

Order Total Calculator

A calculator that adds the price of each product and shows the order total. I wrote my first function with return and used if to catch empty or wrong input.

Our Market Week Table

An HTML table that shows which market we visit each day and what we bring. I practised thead, tbody and simple CSS borders that stay readable on a phone.

My learning journey

  1. Week 1: a first page with our stall name, a photo and a list of products
  2. Week 3: a table of our market days with a header row
  3. Week 5: product cards with Flexbox that wrap nicely on a phone
  4. Week 8: a JavaScript calculator that adds up an order
  5. Final weeks: finished the stall's landing page and showed it to the traders next to us
