Web builder for bilingual Arabic and Turkish pages

Ankara, Türkiye Demo

About me

I was born in Aleppo, finished school in Ankara and grew up reading both right to left and left to right. Now I build web pages that do both. I work part time as a community interpreter, so I know that small details in language matter.

Bilingual Landing Page for a Bakery

A one-page site for a neighbourhood bakery in Turkish and Arabic. I learned how the dir attribute changes a layout and how Flexbox follows the reading direction.

Three Languages Word Quiz

A short quiz for children at the reading corner where I volunteer. I kept the questions in an array and used if to check each answer and show the score.

My learning journey

  1. Started with a page that sets the lang and dir attributes correctly
  2. Built a semantic page with header, nav, main and footer
  3. Made a Flexbox menu that also works from right to left
  4. Wrote a word quiz in JavaScript for the reading corner where I volunteer
  5. Finished my own website in Turkish and Arabic, with English coming next
