Community organiser building web tools for local groups

Thessaloniki, Greece Presents live · 15:05 Demo

About me

I chair the parents' association at my children's school and help run a neighbourhood solidarity network. For years we organised everything with paper lists and phone calls. I learned to code so our groups can work more simply, and I want to help other women lead tech projects too.

Solidarity Network To-do List

A shared to-do list for our weekly collection and delivery tasks. I add items with createElement, mark them done with classList and keep the layout simple for every volunteer.

Volunteer Sign-up Form

A form where new volunteers choose tasks and times. I used checkboxes in a fieldset, a clear privacy note and error messages that explain what to fix.

Parents' Association Budget Tool

A small tool to plan the association's spending on school events. Functions add up the categories and show what is left, and a one-page guide explains the tool to the next chair.

My learning journey

  1. Week 1: a page for our solidarity network with a list of what we collect
  2. Week 3: a volunteer sign-up form with labels and a clear privacy note
  3. Week 5: learned Flexbox and made our pages readable on old phones
  4. Week 8: a to-do app for weekly tasks, built with createElement and classList
  5. Final weeks: a budget tool for the parents' association and a short guide for the next volunteers
