About me

For years I answered calls on a customer support line, so I know how it feels when a website is confusing. I build pages that give people the answer quickly, with clear words and clear buttons. Before I call a page finished, I test every part of it with the keyboard.

Sign-up Form for a Computer Help Evening

A sign-up form for a free evening where volunteers help neighbours with phones and computers. I learned label, fieldset, select and required, and how to write error messages in plain words.

Simple ATM Simulation

A small cash machine in JavaScript: you check your balance, take out money and get a clear message if the amount is too high. I learned if, else if and else, and how to update a variable with -=.

Daily Callbacks To-do List

A to-do list for the calls I need to return each day. I used createElement and append to add items, and a button to mark a call as done.

My learning journey

  1. Week 1: wrote my first HTML page with headings, a list and a link
  2. Week 3: built a sign-up form and gave every field a label
  3. Week 6: rebuilt my website menu with Flexbox so it works on a phone
  4. Week 9: wrote an ATM simulation in JavaScript with if, else if and else
  5. Final weeks: made a to-do app that adds list items with the DOM
